Colletta

Pictured top is the picturesque village of Colletta, a few miles inland from the Italian Riviera. The medieval village was in ruins by the mid 20th century but has been completely restored in recent years.

Both shots above are HDR compositions of 3 shots + and - 2 stops in RAW. All taken with my little Canon S90 mounted on a gorillapod.

  1. Oh yes, Gaz. Welcome to Blogland. Having seen some of your photos I'm really looking forward to further postings on this blog. It'll be good to see places you've been as well.

I did wonder why you used a small format for the blog but I realise that you have used larger images which can b seen full-screen if clicked upon.

  2. Hello, Gaz. I am a friend to your father and have found you through his latest post. Glad that you've entered into our blogging world - your photos are amazing! Beautiful, absolutely.

I am familiar with the HDR process, not from experience but from that of another blog friend, Dan Felstead. He's shared the technique in a few postings of the past...it's much more patience than I seem to have :)

    Welcome.
I will follow and most likely leave my footprints each time I visit.

  4. Welcome to Blogland, Gaz. I clearly remember the photo your father posted of the white cottages and, after seeing your first post, am looking forward to much more of your photography. Hope your ankle heals quickly but not before you share more of your photos!

  5. I really like your first image. I am an HDR fan as long as it is subtle, my only criticism of photomatix is that it tends to produce soft images. I have tried heavy sharpening but that tends to produce halos.

  6. Hi, another curious follower of your dad's blogs (and you uncle's) turning up to check yours out... Liking what I see! Fantastic view of that village, and I love gates and portals. You Edwards boys do seem to have photography in the genes...!
