Congratulations to Red Bull and Sebastian Vettel. This shot was taken a couple of days after the race during post season testing at the circuit.

A few shots from around the Yas Hotel. Stunning building. Only downside is that all those colour changing lights on the canopy never all stay working for more than a few days.

Stunning pictures, fast action and low light in one set! Good work fella.
ReplyDeleteA stunning post.
ReplyDeleteFabulous photos - you certainly get around and see the world. Isn't that building interesting - looks like an hotel inside a tent. The lights must look stunning from inside too.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics as always. The canopy of light is certainly amazing but when you point out the faults in the lighting it becomes rather a distraction. Shame really. But that aside the reflections in the second photo are really neat.
ReplyDeleteExcellent quality on the Red Bull shot. Having spent many a happy hour photographing F1 cars I know how hard it is to get a shot like that.
ReplyDelete(my first word verification was 'dafter' - hope that's not you being personal!)
Thanks for the comments everyone. Slow reply due to lack of internet in the Gulf of Aden. The lights on the building certainly do look amazing, especially when they all work. As an electrical engineer it really does get up my nose.
ReplyDeleteThe canopy is actually shaped like a whale (yes, really). Really need a helicopter to get the best view though.
SS, I know what you mean. During the race and it's night time it's incredibly difficult to get a decent shot without a very fast lens. I've probably taken over 200 shots at the circuit during various events and only kept about 15.
I pulled colors from the clouds into both the sky and the ocean to harmonize the palette and to gray down the original sky.

I would love to go to that place and stay at the nicest accommodation in town.
