Now that I've arrived back in bonny Scotland I thought I'd post these pictures from Rothesay castle on the Isle of Bute. I took them last time I was home and been meaning to post them for a while. I had intended to do some HDR images but once I'd done a black and white conversion in Aperture 3 I was pretty pleased with the result anyway.

I've never been to Bute. These certainly lend themselves to the medium you have chosen - lots of contrasting textures emphasising shape and form.
ReplyDeleteGreat opportunity for the composition and well executed. I've been a few times before on charter rail/boat trips but unfortunately was more concerned with things in the harbour area so I missed this one.
ReplyDeleteLove these - the b&w treatment looks great, brings out all the gritty texture. I love the composition of both too.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone. Thanks for the nice comments. Sorry it's taken a while to respond but been hugely busy the last 2 weeks. Being on leave seams to be more hectic than being at work. Glad you all liked the shots. @J I can well imagine being more concerned with things in the harbour, it's a lovely spot. This was the one and only time I've been to Bute but I'll certainly be back in the future
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely pictures. I like the black-and-white.
