Just spent a few days in dry dock. You'll never guess where. Been a bit too busy to get out and about with the camera but here are a couple of shots from round the dock.
What a shot!!! I love the perspective and the color. Reminds you how huge those ships really are. Makes me feel rather insignificant in a way. Nice work!
Thanks for all the comments everyone. Yes Jenny, that's the ship I'm on. She (I would call it a she) is pretty impressive. We actually had the guys who built the boat on during the dry dock and it's still their favourite boat six years after she was launched.
It's quite amazing that such a huge thing is able to keep balance on water and not to sink... Both photos are great and prominent, I like them. A dry dock is a place where a ship is repaired and maintained?
Hi Petra, thanks for the nice comments. Glad you like the shots. A dry dock is indeed for repairing and maintaining ships. Normally we would dry dock around every 2 years.
The second shot is stunning. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteThe second shot is absolutely - I have to repeat it - stunning. It gives a real idea of the line and beauty and of the speed of which she is capable.

ReplyDeleteIs that your ship? Wow! It's (she's?) sooo beautiful. Great photo.
ReplyDeleteNice angle on the ship. Great lighting too.
